Project Saad
(Beyond Skill Education)
After over ten years of on the ground work, Lend A Hand India realized a need to complement skill education with behavioral aspects and soft skills which every employer or self-employed person needs to succeed in life. Towards this, Lend A Hand India launched a pilot project in 2014 in adolescent counselling and Soft Skills. Lend A Hand India currently implements this module in Pune and Mumbai schools in Maharashtra. From 2019, National Skill Development Council also recognized the need for supplementing vocational skill education with soft skills and incorporated employability skills module across the job roles. LAHI now offers training in Employability Skills to all the trainers delivering skill education in secondary and higher secondary schools.
The baseline and endline studies involving over 1000 students from the Four years indicate that there is a positive impact on the students vis-à-vis self-awareness, self-acceptance (confidence), emotional intelligence, interpersonal relations, resilience and increased wellbeing and happiness.
